Embroidered Fabrics

Broderie anglaise (French, "English embroidery") is a whitework needlework technique incorporating features of embroidery, cutwork and needle lace that became associated with England, due to its popularity here in the 19th century. Cutwork is is a type of needle work that is composed of round or oval holes cut out of the fabric and decoratively overstitched. 
Once reserved for white fabric we now have a range of embroidered fabrics on different coloured bases. 
This fabric has all the properties of a lightweight cotton- soft with some drape, although the embroidery adds a touch of structure to the fabric. It is perfect for spring and summer garments.
