Vendela is a long, slightly tailored dress with wide, long sleeves, made for moments that require that little bit extra. The front has an elegant cowl neckline and is cut on the bias, allowing the dress to move smoothly and making it completely dance floor-proof. The back is cut on the straight grain and finished neatly with bias tape at the neckline. No zips, no buttons, no fuss: just slip it on and you're ready to go. The most exciting part is cutting the front on the bias. Once that's done, Vendela can be sewn together surprisingly quickly. Finish the hems with a rolled hem for a refined finish.
Hint: due to cutting on the bias, the front and back hems may hang unevenly. Trying it on and determining the correct hemline before finishing it off, will make all the difference.

Fabric recommendations:
For the elegant, supple Vendela dress with a cowl neckline, choose supple, luxurious fabrics that drape elegantly and emphasize the lines of the design. Satin, acetate, charmeuse and silk such as crepe de chine are ideal choices: they move smoothly, have a subtle sheen and will give the dress a refined, feminine look. Avoid fabrics that are too stiff or too thick, as they will not allow the dress to drape well and will detract from the elegance of the bias cut.
