Maela is a cool, sleeveless top with a ribbed neckband and hem band: a simple summer project that’s fun to make in different variations. It was designed for knitted fabrics, so if you do opt for a woven fabric, please keep in mind that you’ll need to finish the neckband and hem band in rib knit. We created a see-through version in a fishnet fabric: thanks to its neat finish, the top looks fantastic both on the outside and the inside, making it ideal for sheer fabrics. Pair it with the Sylva bralette and you’re all set for a sunny day.

Fabric recommendations:
With Maela in a chunky knit fabric, you're guaranteed a cool look. Of course, you can also use other knitted fabrics, such as French terry, sweatshirt fabric, (rib) knit fabric, or knitted jacquard. In any case, it is best to cut the neckband and hem band in knit rib. Or go wild and make a Maela out of a sheer fabric, such as fishnet, mesh, or tulle.
