Sewing the Trends - Autumn and Winter 2025

As winter approaches, refreshing your wardrobe becomes essential to embrace the colder months with both style and comfort. We have been keeping a close eye on the catwalks, as well as high-street fashion, to find the best autumn and winter trends to keep you up-to-date with the latest styles this season!

Sweaters and Cardigans

A good knit can transform your outfit look. Layer up with cozy sweaters and stylish cardigans that can easily be mixed and matched. We have spoilt you this season with the largest variety of snuggly knitted fabrics. Starting from chunky capable knits and lace knits, to the luxurious pure merino wool knitted fabrics

The practical grey knitwear was trending at 2025/26 runways, starting from chunky hooded cardigans to slate sweaters worn as dresses.  You can recreate this look using one of our chunky cable knits or lighter weight knitwear fabrics featured below.

If hooded cardigans are not your style, how about stylish and versatile Tilly and The Buttons Pearl Cardigan, which can be made either in a more lightweight fabric, or a thicker knitted fabric, whichever is more your style! Incorporating warmer fabrics, like wool, fleece, and cashmere not only keeps you warm, but also adds a touch of luxury to your outfits. Or try one of the cosy sweater patterns such as Tabor or Charlie and Esme Cardigan.

Mocha Mousse

The colour of the year, mocha mousse, is only getting more fashionable as we head into the cooler months. It's been named the ‘neutral of the season’, making it a must-have wardrobe staple. This shade pairs perfectly with a navy blue jeans, or more neutrals.

We have recently launched the new Cousette denims in a large range of colours, from classic blues to mahogany and cream - all of which would match beautifully with mocha mousse. Shop our mocha mousse colour selection here

Coats and Jackets

A trendy, long coat will be your staple piece this winter. The recently launched Maison Fauve Marcello coat slips on like a borrowed men’s coat, but once belted, it gives a silhouette of effortless femininity.

Another great option is the Darcy Coat pattern by Modern Sewing Co. It is an elegant and comfortable coat that is designed for throwing over any outfit. Whether you're wearing chunky winter layers or a simple summer outfit, the Darcy Coat will drape over the top and work with your body not against it.
