Welcome to the Lamazi Makers Club December Luxury Sewing Kit Inspiration blog.
For December edition we collaborated with the much loved indie pattern brand True Bias and picked their cute and versatile Brynn Cardigan which can be sewn as a fitted top or a dress in the cosy jersey fabric.

The Brynn is a very versatile fitted cardigan with a V-neck and front button opening. View A is sleeveless, View B has a short sleeve, and View C has long sleeves. All views can be sewn in three lengths - cropped (ending at the natural waistline), hip length, and a dress length (ending a few inches above the ankle). The dress option includes a center back seam for extra shaping.
We picked the sleeved hip length top and dress options for our sewing kits and paired it with our favourite and the nicest quality Cosy Cotton Ribbed jersey in plain colours and some with prints or yarn dyed stripes, based on your preference.

Tutorials
Brynn is a perfect pattern for anyone willing to advance their skills of sewing with jerseys. It is much easier and straightforward to sew than it looks. There is a detailed, step by step sewalong available on True Bias website if you wanted to follow.
We love the versions made by Megan and Cara in our brand team who have recorded some very useful tips and tutorials which you can watch on our YouTube channel.

Further thoughts and tips from Cara aka @sosewmad:
“I absolutely loved making Brynn dress in this soft Cosy Cotton Ribbed Jersey. It is a really simple dress with wonderulf options that looks more complicated than it is to make. A very wearable dress that can be dressed up or down. I love it, the colour and fabric are amazing.
The Stretchfix is a game changer for hemming although the fabric ironed really well in order to create creases. I will definitely use it again. I opted not to add buttonholes as it was suggested as one of the options in the instructions. The instructions are very clear. Do make sure to pick your size based on your actual measurements rather than finished measurements due the negative ease of fabric and the close fitted nature of the garment.”
On the pattern pieces of a dress version you will find some extra lines running down the middle of the pattern. You can ignore these lines.

If you are new to sewing with jersey, or prefer more help when sewing Brynn or would like to sew your Brynn in the company of other sewists, we have a workshop scheduled on the 14 of March 2026 which is available to book on our website. We are looking forward to having you in our studio.
Sewing Tools
In your December Luxury bag you will also find printed A0 paper pattern with instructions and all other haberdashery required for your project, such as matching buttons, Maraflex thread, ballpoint needles, clear elastic and Stretchfix .
What makes this edition special is couple other useful and lovely gifts. The sewing tool this month is a must have sewing gauge for every seamstress, which is a small, ruler-like tool with an adjustable slider used to measure and mark consistent distances for buttons, hems, cuffs, pleats and seams. It will be incredibly useful when sewing buttons on your Brynn.

We also included Stretchfix which is a game changer for hemming jersey garments. You will find tips on how to use Stretchfix in Megan’s sewing tips on our YouTube channel. For more tips on using Stretchfix please follow this link. If you fall in love with Stretchfix as much as we do you can purchase more on our website.
How to Style Brynn
We love the versatility of the Brynn as it can be worn on its own as a top or dress, but can also be unbuttoned to act as a layering piece. We hope that you will find some of our styling suggestions below inspiring.
Styling your Brynn Cardigan with your favourite pair of jeans makes the perfect everyday outfit, bringing comfort and style. We love the Closet Core Mitchell Trousers paired with Brynn, the belt detail in this pattern makes this outfit more than just another ‘jeans and a tee’.

If a skirt is more your style, how about pairing your Brynn Cardigan with Cousette’s Jupette skirt. This outfit is so versatile, and can be dressed up, with boots and a nice jacket; perfect for a date night, or dressed down with trainers for an everyday outfit.

For a festive Brynn outfit, this fun striped fabric, with sparkle Lurex woven in, is the perfect outfit for feeling comfortable, yet stylish during the festive period. We have paired this with Maison Fauve’s Pilar Jacket in a soft, Cousette denim, and styled with a pair of simple trainers.

Or, if you would prefer a more elevated look, try a pair of stylish boots to compliment your Brynn Cardigan Dress.

Wear your Brynn as a layering piece. Megan has styled it over a plain slip dress. You could wear this buttoned up, or left open like a cardigan.

Or why not try some different, fun styling techniques, like tying your top.

Thank you for purchasing our December Luxury Sewing kit. We cannot wait to see your versions of Brynn.
If you missed out on our December Makers Club kits, Brynn cardigan top and a dress are be available to purchase as a stand along sewing kits in a range of ribbed jerseys on our website.
