Welcome to the Lamazi Makers Club Special Festive edition Inspiration blog.
For our very first Special Festive edition we collaborated with two European brands to choose a dress and blouse patterns. Both patterns are perfect for dressing up for a festive event and other special occasions or even for a cosy dining event when you’d like to feel that little extra special.
The dress is a beautiful and elegant Solstice sewing pattern by Lise Tailor that is perfect for all seasons. It features beautiful v-neckline and unique twisted detail at the front with two sleeve options and can be made in your desired length. It can also be made as a blouse, you will receive enough fabric to make a long sleeved knee length dress with some leftover to lengthen the dress if needed. If you opt for short sleeve version, you will have more fabric left over for optional lengthening.
This is a perfect pattern for anyone looking for a new challenge and for learning couple of new sewing skills. The video tutorial / sewalong accompanying this pattern along with our sewing tips video, will be a perfect companion while sewing Solstice. You will find links to all tutorials below.
The blouse is a flattering Alexa Blouse by Atelier Jupe, which is a must have oversized blouse, featuring wide, gathered sleeves. The front stands out with its elegant button placket, subtle shoulder gathers and delicate collar. The playful pleats at the back add that little something extra to the blouse. If you prefer something simpler, go for the larger sleeve cuffs without buttons! You will have the option to sew Alexa along our video tutorial or detailed read along tutorial, or why not use both if you are new to sewing blouses with some extra details.
Fabric
The fabrics we picked for these two beautiful projects are of the finest quality LENZING™ certified ECOVERO™ woven viscoses with elegant and beautiful prints, suitable for festive dressing up. The colours on both are vibrant and rich that pop on a dark background, featuring festive shades and can also be worn with black tights / leggings for everyday use.

Sewing Tutorials
You will find the detailed and very useful sewalong for Solstice dress at this link here or you can click the image below. It is a very thorough visual guide and we found it incredibly useful when sewing some of the trickiest parts of this pattern, mainly the front twist, turning out the shoulders and burrito method. The video is recorded in French by the team at Lise Tailor themselves but you can turn on the English subtitles. Our tip is to read the instructions and then watch the video of each part. Also do not forget to transfer all notches and other markings to your fabric as shown in the video tutorial.

Sewing Tool
What makes this month’s Luxury Bag even more special is the sewing tool that we picked and love so much here at Lamazi fabrics. The tool we picked is this multipurpose organiser from Prym Love with the following features:
- Organiser for pins, sewing machine bobbins and sewing machine needles
- You can store up to 30 sewing machine bobbins around the ring
- Removable magnetic pin cushion with recessed grip. You can remove this part from the ring if you want to use it separately.
- Separate, closed plastic storage for needles, which can be found under the magnetic pin holder.
- Each part can be removed and used separately.
