Active or Leisure Wear by Alexis

Hello Lamazi family, it’s Alexis from My Sweet Sunshine. I am back on the blog today sharing a little something I call active/leisure wear. I am sure you have noticed lately the blurred lines of everyday wear, active wear and leisure wear. You can spot the look in every retail store as well as plenty of patterns to choose from to complete your own me made active/leisure outfit.

Check out these looks for inspirations, I found on Pinterest.

I have plenty of dresses in my closet so I took the opportunity to sew up my own active/leisure wear. I used
two different types of knits, both from Lamazi. The first is an Organic Brushed Sweat Old Rose from Mind the MAKER and the second is the See You At Six - Bordeaux Solid French Terry.

Both knits are uber comfy to wear but The Mind the MAKER Brushed knit takes the cake for softness. Thanks to the brushed backing and the medium to heavy weight it was the perfect pairing for The Pattern Scouts, Cozi Jacket. The knit does have minimal stretch so it should be paired with jackets, cardigans or pants that have an easy fit. The Cozi jacket is made for both woven and knits and has a cropped length. The pattern is drafted for a 5’7” person and since I am 5’5”, as per instruction, I did shorten it by 1”. Next time I plan to keep the full length as I felt the length is a bit too cropped now.

The Cozi Jacket is offered in two versions, I made version A with the high funnel collar. I love the high collar and next time I would add the optional interfacing to give the collar extra oomph.

The pattern comes in sizes 0-30 and I made the size 2 based off the size chart. Overall, besides the length, it fit great!

I think the Cozi Jacket would look equally as amazing in a Linen fabric:

Mind The Maker - Nisa Softened Linen

The second garment I made was the True Bias, Hudson and I paired them with the See You At Six - Bordeaux Solid French Terry and the matching ribbing. This fabric is light to medium weight with plenty of stretch for a fitted garment. The Hudson, especially in this French Terry, are the perfect pants for lounge wear, active wear and even pj’s! Trust me, I tested all scenarios! HA!

The Hudson pants come in sizes 0-30 and I made a size 4. I recently spotted the high rise hack on True Bias that I want to try next!  The original Hudson’s are iconic but I think I may love the high rise even more on my body.

More fabric options for the Hudson pants…

So, I have to ask, are you still thinking lounge/active wear or are you craving Summer dresses for all your exotic travels? We can dream, can’t we?!!

Until next time,

Alexis
