Pattern Information

A delicate buttoned-up dress with an elastic waistband and a pretty scalloped collar. The pattern includes 2 sleeves versions and a blouse option. Its wise design enables all choices of fabrics. An intermediate level of difficulty will seduce expert seamstresses but will also convince beginners to dare a project that requires patience and thoroughness.

Fabric Information 

Exclusively made for Lamazi Fabrics, “Garden of Dreams” sateen fabrics are smooth with luxurious soft handle and silky finish. Night Sky cotton sateen is made from Organic fibres certified by The Global Organic Textile Standard. It is soft, sews beautifully and makes comfortable and attractive garments which are also sustainable. 

Organic fibres are natural fibres grown without the use of synthetic pesticides (such as insecticides), or herbicides and GMOs (Genetic Modified Organisms) according to the principles of organic agriculture. Organic agriculture is a production process that sustains the health of ecosystems, soils and people.

The fabric features off-white paint splashes on a dark blue background, making it a very elegant and attractive design for dressmaking and crafts. 

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed by leading standard setters to define world-wide recognised requirements for organic textiles. From the harvesting of the raw materials, environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing to labelling, textiles certified to GOTS provide a credible assurance to the consumer.

Organic fibres play multifaceted roles in creating an industry that actively lowers its environmental impact and prioritizes human health over short term profit.

The Inks used in the production of “Garden of Dreams” are also GOTS certified Organic quality and water based, so natural and sustainable, good for the skin and for the nature.

Washing Instructions:  

It is advisable to always wash your fabric before sewing as shrinkage will occur when the fabric is first washed. “Garden of Dreams” sateen fabrics tends to shrink by about 2%.

Choose a mild detergent without bleach. Wash your fabric with a delicate program, temperature max 40° , Gentle spin (max 800 rpm). Dry your laundry in the open air, taking care to smooth it out when it comes out of the machine.

Do not tumble dry or dry clean. 

It is advisable to overlock the cut edges before wash to avoid fraying. 

Iron at medium temperature.

Use brand new, fine Microtex needle as well as new extra fine pins when sewing Sateen fabrics to maintain the sheen and beauty of it.
